Getting Started

Candidates sign the franchise agreement, obtain rights from Your Pie Pizza to develop a new location, pay their initial franchise fee, then work with the development team on site selection, building out the restaurant's interior design and exterior appearance, permitting requirements (if applicable), staffing requirements (including hiring staff), etc., so that they can open their doors once everything has been completed correctly.

Your Pie provides support in finding a location for the restaurant, obtaining permits necessary for operation, and hiring staff. We also assist in designing and building the restaurant, in addition to providing training on the operation of the business and support in marketing their new location. We provide all equipment necessary for the operation of their restaurant, including kitchen equipment, furniture, and decorating materials.

A Your Pie Pizza franchisee completes our training program and learns about day-to-day operations. The franchisor provides training on creating and serving the pizza, including but not limited to: proper recipes for ingredients, customer service techniques, and hiring staff. The franchisee also learns about marketing strategies and financial management. The franchisee learns how to operate the business successfully and make it profitable.

Soft Opening

Your restaurant holds a soft opening for three days before its grand opening, during which time money is often raised for local charities and employees get the chance to practice their new roles and work out any kinks in operational flow. This is an important step to ensure that all systems are in place and that the restaurant is ready for its debut grand opening. A soft opening is a great way to test your food, service, and overall concept.

Grand Opening

The franchisee assumes control of operations, with assistance and support from the corporate team. The grand opening is a celebration of the new restaurant’s arrival and a chance for franchisees to introduce themselves to their community. There are many ways to celebrate, such as inviting local media and holding an open house. A grand opening also allows franchisees to get feedback on their operations from customers & employees.

What to Consider Before

If you're looking for a restaurant franchise for sale, it's important to remember buying one is a significant investment and you want to make sure it's the right move for your business goals. As with any major purchase, know what you can afford upfront and how much monthly fees will cost over time. While we have succeeded in opening 70+ franchises by creating a model that works first and then franchising it, any new business venture requires time and money spent on research before deciding whether or not it's worth pursuing further. Do your homework: examine the franchise's reputation and general track record before investing in it. The best pizza franchise is the one that suits your business needs.

Current & Future Costs

Franchise costs are easy to see up front, but determining future expenses can be done by asking questions during your discovery day and contacting other franchisees. The franchise can provide you with all of its financials and projections, including a breakdown of the operating costs associated with the franchise.

Brand Strategy

When researching a new brand, find out if it is popular among people in its existing markets and why. Then compare that information with your reasons for being loyal to your favorite brands so you can determine whether or not this new one fits with the values by which you live.

Brand's Legal and Financial History

When you buy into a brand, make sure that it is promoting and maintaining ethical practices. Also, ask for financial statements so you can review their books. Research public records to find out if there have been any inquiries on the business in the past.

Marketing and Operational Support

Make sure you thoroughly understand the training and support that will be provided by the franchisor. What about the marketing and operational support? Is there a marketing plan to get your business off the ground? Are there support programs in place to help you with operations and management?

Current Franchise Markets

Do your due diligence by contacting existing franchise owners to gain firsthand information about what it's like to own and operate a business under the parent company you are considering. What are the franchisees' experiences? What were the stumbling blocks and how were they overcome?

Frequently Asked Questions About

South Carolina Franchise Opportunities

  1. How much support will I receive?

Our team exists to support you. When you sign your franchise agreement, you get so much more than a restaurant—you get a franchise family, and that’s exactly how you’ll be treated. Even after your store is open, we continue to provide marketing resources, operational guidance and more to help you achieve success. Plus, each store has its own Field Support Manager who serves as your dedicated, day-to-day problem solver. Learn more.
  2. How long does it take?

As with any restaurant franchise, there are a variety of factors that can affect an opening timeline, including site selection, build-out, permitting, staffing and more. With that in mind, most stores average around nine months between signing the agreement and opening their doors. Looking to move a bit faster? We might have an existing location available for purchase in your area. Fill out our franchising form to learn more!
  3. How much does it cost?

The total cost per unit varies by size and location, but we estimate start-up costs to be between $364,750 to $610,000. Financing can be secured through third-party lending sources. You can find a full investment breakdown here, and we’re always happy to answer any specific questions you may have.
  4. How much control will I have?

For a franchise brand, it’s important to maintain consistency across locations to ensure that every guest enjoys the same high-quality experience, regardless of where they visit. Consistency also helps to support brand recognition, which benefits the entire franchise system. Each Your Pie restaurant will feature the same general layout, color schemes, equipment and menu; however, our team works closely with you to localize your store as much as possible. We work to strike a perfect balance between an established, national brand and a local favorite. This goes for outreach, too. As a core value at Your Pie, our franchisees share a passion for community involvement—but they have the freedom to decide exactly what that involvement looks like in their individual market.
  5. How much money can I make?

Franchisees are provided with benefits associated with the overarching brand, which can include the brand’s marketing strategies and research on successful business procedures. At Your Pie, franchisees pay a 5% royalty fee in exchange for Your Pie’s knowledge and licensing and a 1% contribution to the brand’s advertising fund to support marketing efforts. When evaluating franchise opportunities, royalty fees are a great indication of how much of the profits a franchisee has to give up, and how much they can expect to keep.
  6. How do you find the right location?

With more than 70 stores across 16 states, we have an established presence but plenty of room to grow. When it comes to selecting a location, Your Pie has pre-developed methods to help determine where our brand will be most successful. We use these tools and processes as a means of protecting your franchise investment and ensuring that your location will support a thriving business. Check out our available markets map, and fill out our franchise form to get in touch about a specific market.
