Getting Started

Once you're ready to sign the franchise agreement, it's time to get started. First, you'll need to pay the initial franchise fee. This goes towards getting your location up and running and includes all necessary equipment, signage, and decor. You'll also need to obtain rights from Your Pie so that you can develop a new location in your area.

Development

The franchisee works closely with the development team to select a location, build out and furnish it following company standards, apply for permits as needed from local authorities, and hire employees that meet company standards.

Training

The franchisee receives training from the franchisor (including day-to-day operational advice). The franchisee will also be given a comprehensive training manual with instructions on how to operate the business, including menu planning, purchasing, accounting, marketing, & advertising.

Soft Opening

A 3-day soft opening is typically held before the grand opening to raise money for charity, connect with community members and give staff practice running the new location. During the soft opening, franchisees will be able to practice using their new equipment and software.

Grand Opening

Once you've taken over operations, you can tap into the corporate teams that help support the operations and marketing of your location. That means you can get help with managing your inventory, maintaining your storefront, building relationships with local customers, and more.

Exceptional Brick Oven Pizza

If you’ve ever eaten pizza made in a brick oven, it’s apparent that there is nothing else like the taste. The impossibly delicious crust and the smoky flavor of the wood taste, unlike any other pizza. People associate it with the quality of Italian cooking from centuries past—and a franchise will benefit from this association as well.

Our Ideal Franchise Candidate

Our company is committed to helping entrepreneurs succeed. We want you to do better than you ever thought possible, and that's why we are here for you every step of the way. Our team is ready to support new franchise owners from signing to opening, providing ongoing operations and marketing support, assisting with construction details, and navigating the complexities of owning a business. That said, owning a small business isn't easy—and it can be especially challenging if you don't have all of the resources or expertise needed to take on such a big challenge. While we're looking for individuals who have experience working in restaurants (either in management or as an employee) we don't require a minimum number of years spent inside the industry—we are interested in speaking with individuals with a passion for pizza first and foremost! What we do require is an understanding of what it takes to run a successful pizza business, or a strong willingness to learn. We want you to have the experience and knowledge needed to not only open and operate a restaurant, but also be able to grow your business into something truly great—something that makes both you and your customers happy. We are looking for franchisees with the ability to take risks and make decisions that will impact their businesses, as well as their communities. A desire for growth and improvement is important because it allows us to continue innovating and expanding our brand into new markets.

What to Consider Before

BUYING A FRANCHISE

Not all franchise opportunities are good opportunities. Our decision to franchise was made after we had fully established a successful business model, which is how we have succeeded so much over the years. Before signing on the dotted line, carefully evaluate a franchise's benefits and risks. Be sure to do your research and understand how credible and ethical a franchise business/opportunity is. A lot of companies will use the word “franchise” as a buzzword to make sure that you’re interested in their business opportunity, but know that not all franchises are created equally. Consider what your workday will look like. A typical day might include paperwork, training new employees and visiting restaurants during lunchtime or dinner service, and attending our annual Your Pie Pizza Franchise Fest. One of the great perks of being a franchisee is the freedom to choose your own hours, hire staff that you approve, and delegate so you can focus on the big picture. When considering a restaurant franchise opportunity, there’s no shortage of costly missteps that can be made. Here are some things to keep in mind as you search for your perfect pizza business:

Current & Future Costs

If you're thinking about buying a franchise, it's important to look at the up-front costs of owning and operating a business. However, it's also critical to look at future costs like employee training, marketing, and advertising, equipment maintenance, and more. To determine future costs, ask questions during discovery day and contact other franchisees in your area.

Brand Strategy

Brand strategy can be a confusing term for many people—especially because it can mean different things in different contexts. But at its core, brand strategy is all about understanding what makes a brand successful, and making sure that your business aligns with those factors. You'll want to understand what makes people buy from your business, what they value most about it—and whether or not they feel like they're getting what they want out of their relationship with the company behind it.

Brand's Legal and Financial History

When it comes to selecting a brand, you want to make sure that they are operating in a way that aligns with your values. One of the best ways to do this is by researching the brand's legal and financial history. Ask for financial statements to review or research public records for inquiries on the business's practices. What about ethical issues? Has there been any discrimination lawsuits or other legal problems? Any instances of fraud or embezzlement? If so, what was done about it?

Marketing and Operational Support

To make a smart decision about what franchise business is right for you, it's important to understand all aspects of running an efficient company. This includes marketing strategy development, operations management—and financial analysis and budgeting; many franchisors also provide training on handling customer complaints and staff management. This can include everything from training manuals and marketing materials to accounting software and point-of-sale systems.

Current Franchise Markets

To determine if the franchise is a good investment, learn more about its existing franchise owners and their markets. Understand how much effort the franchisor makes to market products or services in each region it operates in. For example, if the franchise is a restaurant franchisor and you’re interested in opening a location in New York City, make sure the company has enough resources to support your effort.

Frequently Asked Questions About

Colorado Franchise Opportunities

  1. How much support will I receive?

Our team exists to support you. When you sign your franchise agreement, you get so much more than a restaurant—you get a franchise family, and that’s exactly how you’ll be treated. Even after your store is open, we continue to provide marketing resources, operational guidance and more to help you achieve success. Plus, each store has its own Field Support Manager who serves as your dedicated, day-to-day problem solver. Learn more.
  2. How long does it take?

As with any restaurant franchise, there are a variety of factors that can affect an opening timeline, including site selection, build-out, permitting, staffing and more. With that in mind, most stores average around nine months between signing the agreement and opening their doors. Looking to move a bit faster? We might have an existing location available for purchase in your area. Fill out our franchising form to learn more!
  3. How much does it cost?

The total cost per unit varies by size and location, but we estimate start-up costs to be between $364,750 to $610,000. Financing can be secured through third-party lending sources. You can find a full investment breakdown here, and we’re always happy to answer any specific questions you may have.
  4. How much control will I have?

For a franchise brand, it’s important to maintain consistency across locations to ensure that every guest enjoys the same high-quality experience, regardless of where they visit. Consistency also helps to support brand recognition, which benefits the entire franchise system. Each Your Pie restaurant will feature the same general layout, color schemes, equipment and menu; however, our team works closely with you to localize your store as much as possible. We work to strike a perfect balance between an established, national brand and a local favorite. This goes for outreach, too. As a core value at Your Pie, our franchisees share a passion for community involvement—but they have the freedom to decide exactly what that involvement looks like in their individual market.
  5. How much money can I make?

Franchisees are provided with benefits associated with the overarching brand, which can include the brand’s marketing strategies and research on successful business procedures. At Your Pie, franchisees pay a 5% royalty fee in exchange for Your Pie’s knowledge and licensing and a 1% contribution to the brand’s advertising fund to support marketing efforts. When evaluating franchise opportunities, royalty fees are a great indication of how much of the profits a franchisee has to give up, and how much they can expect to keep.
  6. How do you find the right location?

With more than 70 stores across 16 states, we have an established presence but plenty of room to grow. When it comes to selecting a location, Your Pie has pre-developed methods to help determine where our brand will be most successful. We use these tools and processes as a means of protecting your franchise investment and ensuring that your location will support a thriving business. Check out our available markets map, and fill out our franchise form to get in touch about a specific market.
